ThriCorder - Open Source Sci-Fi Scanner
A fully functional tricorder inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation. It's a handheld scanning device built around an ESP32 and a stack of real sensors, housed in a 3D printed enclosure I designed myself.

This is everything you need to build your own. It's completely open source and free. Note that this is a digital download of the build files, not a physical device. Nothing ships to you. You'll get the files to make one yourself.
What it does: thermal imaging, environmental sensing (temperature, humidity, pressure, VOCs, and UV), distance measurement, compass heading, color detection, real-time sound analysis with logging, and wifi/Bluetooth scanning. It saves snapshots and logs to an onboard SD card and hosts its own web page so you can pull files straight to your phone, with custom LED matrix animations for each mode.
What's included:
- Full firmware and source code (PlatformIO project)
- All STL files for the 3D printed enclosure
- Complete shopping list / bill of materials with part links
- README with build and flashing instructions
Build it, modify it, improve it. It's yours. If you end up making one, I'd genuinely like to see it.
